- My research interests focus on various chemical contaminants, such as methylmercury and per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, in freshwater and marine environments. I am interested in studying their (i) occurrence, transformation, and biogeochemical processes; (ii) interactions with aquatic organisms, ranging from phytoplankton to apex predators; (iii) bioaccumulation and transfer within the aquatic food chain; and ultimately, (iv) their fate in the water cycle in response to environmental changes. My role in the polar research project is to evaluate the distribution of anthropogenic emerging contaminants in Arctic environments.
